Raw Honey and Crushed Garlic
It is difficult to overestimate the health benefits of honey and there are numerous ways you can choose to take honey. Thanks to its delicious taste many of those ways are not just for the benefit of your health and overall digestive system, but they are nothing other than pleasurable. Once you have tasted the difference between raw honey and supermarket-bought honey, you will know exactly what we are talking about.
So, when you have raw honey that is packed with goodness, what can you do with it to make it even healthier? The answer I simple – add fresh, crushed garlic.
Now, before you question whether these two products are a marriage made in heaven or not, there is one thing to note. You don’t immediately eat the fresh raw garlic with the honey but rather “steep it in the honey for at least four days. This takes the powerful flavor out of the garlic and softens the taste to the point where the honey and garlic complement each other perfectly.
In our other video blog posts, we have talked in greater detail about the health benefits of honey, so here we are just going to tell you a little bit about the benefits of garlic, especially when taken in conjunction with honey.
Garlic is renowned for its antibacterial and antioxidant properties, and is best taken on an empty stomach with honey to also aid your digestive system. The combination is both great for warding off colds and flu, or can help to relieve some of the symptoms too. Garlic is also known for its benefits to the cardiovascular system, helping to reduce cholesterol and also reducing blood pressure, according to the results of various research projects.
If you are concerned about the aftereffects of consuming garlic on your breath, a useful tip is to chew on some fresh parsley or a roasted coffee bean!
